Our Programs

Parent Discussion Groups

Launched in September 2011, this project aims to complement and enhance communities’ existing Head Start Programs and other families with preschool children. It targets families in Head Start programs by collaborating with their local Head Start centers. We assist Family Advocates at Head Start centers in training the center’s parents to function effectively and to develop workshops pertaining to lifestyle enhancement strategies. Identified risk factors and lifelong goals are looked at when shaping these workshops.

Celebrate Fathers!

Our program’s mission is to help more fathers have healthy and positive relationships with their children and with the mothers of their children.

We respect and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and personal sacrifices of single and divorced mothers—at the same time, we do not believe that mothers should shoulder a disproportionate burden for raising children, maintaining a home and generating income. Our goal is to assist fathers in more effectively fulfilling their roles as parents, partners, and workers.

Celebrate Mothers!

Celebrate Mothers! is a network of like-minded women who embark on a self-care and discovery journey. Since self-care is an essential component of motherhood, Phoenix Community Services is providing services and activities to assist, guide and support mothers in their journey.

Our families rely on mothers each day to make the best decisions, to love us and to provide for our overall wellness and health. It’s past time for mothers to be celebrated; not just on Mother’s Day, for who they are and what they do to make us feel safe, happy and loved.

Most mothers never think about themselves. How can mothers give their best if they haven’t learned to apply the best to themselves? It’s almost as if taking care of one’s self is a dirty word. Not anymore!

NorCal Faith Alliance

The NorCal Faith Alliance®, founded by Phoenix Community Services, Inc.

in January 2012, is a cooperative of interdenominational churches formed to advance common interests in children, youth, adults, families and communities throughout Northern California. It is a unique organizational entity in which each church retains its individual identity and internal controls.

Project 50+

We work with seniors aged 50 years and older to provide information and workshops on 1) Identity Theft, 2) Medical Identity Theft, 3) Planning for Unexpected Life Events, 4) Scams that Target Homeowners, 5) Prescription Drug Abuse: Opioids, 6) Drug Interactions, and 7) Financial Education:
“Living on a Fixed Income”.

We trained as facilitators at Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in San Francisco and use their materials for presentations and handouts. We also partner with local pharmacies to discuss prescription drug abuse and drug interactions with workshop participants.

Harvest Workforce Development Program

Our mission is to provide soft skills, financial education, life coaching, and entrepreneurial training to prepare low-income individuals, low-wage worker re-entry persons, and veterans for the workforce or starting a business.

Our vision is to change negative behaviors and to empower individuals to not only get a job or start a business, but also to keep the job, develop a career
or be successful in business.
